WWII WW2 US Navy Military Morse Code Signal Light Gun Blinker Tube Lamp Beacon

Wow, how does this still exist!? This is an unbelievable piece of history; a U.S. Navy Morse code signal light. These devices were used for nighttime visual communication between ships during World War II. The device uses a light bulb and a trigger mechanism to send messages in Morse code. The shoulder-mounted design allowed for more discreet and direct aiming of the light beam compared to a ship's large searchlight. The "gun" portion of the device contains a battery compartment to power the light. I did not want to alter the piece in any way, and as such, I have not tried to fix the light which is NOT CURRENTLY POWERING ON. It's likely that it just needs a new bulb. Piece is marked "9-S-4240-L".
